Thanks for that. I'm definitely going to see it and my hopes of how good it was going to be were way too high. Thanks to your post I'm not expecting quite as much anymore and hopefully that in itself will make it better for me. Hugh Jackman and Christian Bale are awesome actors. Can't wait for Jackman's new movie "The Fountain". If you like Christian Bale "The Machinist" is a great movie. Well, even if you don't like him it's a great movie.
Just saw both "Beerfest" and "The Wickerman" at the low low price of $1.75. Thank the lord for that theater.
Anyway, Beerfest was hilarious. Made by the guys from Broken Lizard(makers of Super Troopers) and I would say it's almost, if not just as good as Super Troopers. They made another movie (Club Dread) that sucked pounds and so I was a little weary going into this movie. But, despite sound problems in the theater(sounded like someone had a helicopter on full-tilt in the background), I thought it was great. The plot is pretty simple. About 2 brothers who's german grandpa dies leaving behind a huge beer-drinking legacy. At Octoberfest they find this "underground" drinking competition called "Beerfest". They are embarassed by the germans at said "fest" and vow to make a team, train for a year, and win Beerfest the next year. So good thinking about going to it again... maybe after a little beerfest at home.
The Wickerman, for lack of a better word, sucked. It was a pretty well-written story but because of a lot of unnecessaries in the plot, it... sucked. The ending really gave no resolution, and was more comical than anything, so when I walked out of the theater I kind of wanted my money back, if not only to burn it. About a guy/cop that gets a spooky letter from his ex-fiance telling him her daughter was missing and she needed help finding her. He goes to this place called "Summers Isle" which turns out to be a weird feminist-controlled cult. It sucked.
Rented and saw "An American Haunting". Not scary. Story was good but, like The Wickerman, had too many unnecessaries bogging down the story. I guess I would rent it but don't have too many expectations. About the Bell Witch documentation in Tennessee in the 1800's. Bell Witch torments this family, actually only the father and daughter, for a while because of something that happened in the household. Not great.

I am waiting for Hugh Jackman's other movie...... WOLVERINE! Of course you know that! Lol! The movie "The Prestige", is not what you are expecting. But, when you see what is really going on, it will mess you up, yoou will not know who the good guy is or the bad guy. You will like it. I do like Christian Bale, I think he did the best job as Batman!
Now the Broken Lizard team also did a movie called Puddle Cruisers, it was their first movie. Kind of a stinker, but if you like these guys like I do, you may want to watch it. If you saw Jackass 2, then you noticed the cab driver was Jay. He directed "The Dukes of Hazzard", and was the black cop on SuperTroopers. Funny guys. Mack is how I am in life. If you liked him in SuperTroopers, then you are gonna love me, lol! Hence my connection with Wolverine, a scrapper, strong, short, and hot tempered. Lol!

Wow, can't believe you mentioned The Machinist. We randomly rented this a couple weeks back, had never heard of it, just spotted it, read the back and it looked good. It was a great movie, great plot, and great ending. Rented Donny Darko over the weekend. I believe this was a Toxic pick I liked it, could be a little hard to follow as I believe the plot is meant to be left open to interpretation.

Yeah The Machinist is one of my favorite movies... I love movies with that sort of twisted plot and storyline. Donnie Darko is another good one. Another movie that many people might not know about, it's an indie film but had a little wider distribution, is The Jacket with Adrien Brody. Another great movie with a twisted plot. Check it out. There are a lot more but I feel too "fatigued" to write much longer for now.

I guess it does get kind of tiresome typing with one hand, lol! Sorry Echo! Figured I would beat everyone else to the punch on that!
My girlfriend wants to see The Guardian, and I think it seems more like Armaggedon, in a way. Costner's sacrifice to let Old Kelso to live.
I was really hoping that they were going to do Restaraunt at the End of the Universe. That is the second installment to The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. Still nothing on it as of yet. I am waiting though.
Upcoming movies:
From D.C. Comics The Submariner Wonder Woman The Dark Knight Superman (yet, untitled!) The Flash
Marvel Comics Wolverine Thor The Avengers Magneto Fantastic 4:Rising of the Silver Surfer Iron Fist Ant-Man Iron Man The Incredible Hulk Nick Fury Shazam!

Yeah, they're going a little overboard with some of these comic book hero movies. Althought Ant-man does sound pretty sweet. And I hope Shazam! is as good as Kazaam!
Anyway, I'm going to see Borat this friday. Been a huge fan of Da Ali G Show since they began showing it on HBO and this guy is hilarious. Long story short, he gets a select few people to admit they wish Jew-hunting was legal, and gets a few people in a country western bar to sing along with his song "Throw the Jew down the well". The creator, being Jewish himself, has a great since of humor and I have no idea how he holds a straight face through it all. If anyone has noticed, my long-time avatar is actually a picture of Borat. Go see it.
Also if anyone here can read, I have suspicions about a couple of you, a couple movies coming out in the distant future about great books are "The Inferno" which is Dante's huge classic about a man traveling through the seven circles of Hell, and "I Am Legend" a book by Richard Matheson. One of my favorite books. About a guy who is the last person he knows on Earth. Everyone else has been turned into vampire-esque creatures by some virus. During the day he hunts these creatures while they sleep and at night he boards up his house and tries to sleep while they go crazy trying to get in. Great book. Less than 200 pages too for those of you that think reading books is hard.
I'll quit the novel-like posts...

I read the entire Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy series, and I would like to se them put to movie as well. These titles will make you laugh:
1. Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy 2. Restaraunt at the end of the Universe 3. So long and thanks for all the fish 4. Life, the Universe, and Everything 5. Mostly Harmless.
If you saw Hitchhiker's guide, you missed a very funny part. Actually about 20 of them were omitted from the movie. But when Arthur read the book, he noticed all the long definitions for each planet, but for Earth, it just said, "Harmless". When he asked Ford about it, he said he was going to change it to, "Mostly Harmless". Hence the last book in the series. These books are very funny sic-fi books. Don't read it while smoking dope, or drinking booze, it could put you in a hospital. Lol!

Just saw "The Black Dahlia" last night. Great movie... my type of movie. The Black Dahlia is set in 1940s Los Angeles. Two cops, Bucky Bleichert (Josh Hartnett) and his partner, Lee Blanchard, investigate the death of Elizabeth Short, a young woman found brutally murdered. Bucky soon realizes that his girlfriend had ties to the deceased, and soon after that, he begins uncovering corruption and conspiracy within the police department. <--- courtesy of www.imdb.com. Very good. Scarlett Johansson is my lover. Nah, for real.

Hey Wolvie, just saw The Prestige.
Amazing movie. Even worth the $7.50 I had to drop to see it. Christopher Nolan is a great writer and director... probably my favorite. Had the movie figured out after I saw what Tesla's dang machine did but that probably made it better. Anyway, this is one of the best movies I've seen in a long time so go see it.

I thought I had it all figured out. But I kept looking at Tesla, I knew I knew him, then it hit me, David Bowie! Probably the best he ever looked, lol!
*** Changed post do to spoils I had in here, sorry!***

LOL! Oh, and I thought the same thing about Bowie... He didn't look quite as dead as usual... did a good job actually.
Going to see another Christian Bale movie next week. Harsh Times is coming to the theater here so I'm waiting.
