$3.89 here today (White County, AR)
On the radio, it was said prices were expected to go to around $4.50 by July 4th, due to oil hitting $139 a barrel a few days ago.

"Down" to $3.85 now. Saudi Arabia has pledged to increase production, and demand has decreased in the U.S. due to the high prices; demand is expected to decrease in China as well as they are increasing prices, so relief may be in sight.
Who else knew that the U.S. has more proven oil reserves than Saudi Arabia? We just aren't allowed to drill for it. We also haven't built a new refinery in 30 years.
I know we need to start looking beyond oil as an energy source, but it really isn't a transition that can be made in an extremely short time frame. We should develop our oil resources while working on future energy development. Government needs to get off our backs and out of the way. Less regulation, greater entrepreneurship, and we all reap the benefits.

Yeah, we do some grocery shopping at Kroger, and take advantage of the 10 cents off per gallon. We can also get discounts at Harp's grocery stores, depending on what items you buy. You can also get 3 cents per gallon off at the Wal-Mart related gas station if you have a Wal-Mart card, but we are trying to pretty much boycott Wal-Mart. As far as food goes, we have started trying to produce a lot of our own. We planted fruit trees this year, along with some vegetables, and most of our meat comes from the deer we hunt or from my dad, who is a beef cattle rancher so we get free beef. The only meat we have to buy is chicken and some fish (if we want salmon). We have been trying to eat healthier, and I can really tell a difference in my energy levels and in how I feel overall. We don't buy prepackaged meals, processed food or sodas, and Melissa has started making wheat/flax bread, and we avoid fast food. We do usually go out to eat every Friday night but it's at places that are a little nicer and have better quality food. Overloads of sodium and sugar are BAD for you. Try eating grilled fish, chicken, or lean steak, a baked potato, and salad for dinner, eat an apple a day for a couple weeks and see how much better you feel. That's my food rant. Take care of yourselves. What you put into your body is very important. Just say no to imported Chinese "Wal-products" and "McMeals".

LOL tox. You really wanna pit liberals against conservatives when it comes to the environment and self-sufficiency? Maybe on MSN sometime.
I usually enjoy a nice Mt. Dew and donut for breakfast. Gives me the right amount of energy to fall asleep midway through class.
But really fish is about the best meat for you. Choline FTW!!!!

Yes I do like to blame the democrats/liberals for it. But really instead of Obama, we should blame the last great democrat president. Clinton. He is the one that vetoed the bill that the senate passed to drill. Yes there are conservative tards that have the same views as the dems, but they are not as many. What was one of their reasons for not supporting it? Because it would take 10 years for it to be up and running. Can you guess how many years it has been since he vetoed that? The upcoming Candidates neither of them support drilling in the US, but at least McCain is willing to review it again from his previous stance. Plus, if it would actually hurt the environment I may care a little bit. They complain that Oil rigs in the ocean will spill and blah blah. How many of them were destroyed or had a major oil spill during Katrina? And with anwar, we have to protect those little animals, and conserve their land. Even though they only want to drill on I believe .001% of the land up there. *Toxic supports US drilling, Nuclear energy, Self sufficiency, Protecting the environment/poor little animals, and finding new energy sources* Which can all be done at the same time, so why not do them at the same time? Its like people think they can only support one or two of those options. Like new energies and enviromental protection, or drilling and SS. But we can do all of it at once. This topic makes me want to do this to a lot of people. Liberals and conservatives.
